Lesley's Trees 1I’m always very happy to see how art quilters use HeidiHandDyes fabric so was delighted to receive this photo from Lesley. She told me that as soon as she saw this piece of fabric, it immediately brought an image of trees to mind. I’m very impressed with her free motion stitching and I think the trees, along with the colour and texture of the fabric, work really well together.

Thank you, Lesley, for sharing this work with myself and other HeidiHandDyes readers.

Great tree piece with a great piece of fabric! How large is it? Checked out some of your links & darn; looks like I have another book to order! Also, I have a hard time keeping up with all the worthwhile information available & artist interviews etc on the textile artist site – have been meaning to ask you if you were aware of it.

Sorry! I meant to leave the details – it’s 20ins x 11 ins. I still have a lot left from the piece to do some more.

Thanks, Lesley used the pattern in the fabric well by just adding the trees and leaving the rest of the fabric plain. Often the simplest of designs can work really well.
